The Chanthaburi Fruit Festival or World Durian Festival is held annually for one week during the month of May. The main event takes place in the city of Chanthaburi, in and around the football stadium and around the Taksin park, but there are plenty of smaller events throughout the whole province as well. Here is a fruit paradise offering fresh-picked tropical fruits from the local orchards, such as Durian, Rambutan, Banana and Mangosteen to name just a few. The festival has fruit quality contests, beauty pageants, furniture stalls, jewelry exhibits, OTOP* exhibits and of course there is plenty of different food as well.
